Jungle Cruise - a tiny tale
Childrenbook about courage and exploring.
Illustration/ Story: Stefania Santoro
As an illustrator, one often wants to see one's own stories both illustrated and written. With this project, I wanted to provide a sneak peek into a story that has been buzzing around in my head for quite some time.

the process
The illustration began with the colour palette. What colours should my magical world have? I was inspired by an image of plant. After that, I gradually incorporated more elements from the story into the sketch of my bookcover.

the Main character - Tiny
I wanted to create Tiny’s character as a curious, thoughtful girl who quietly observes the world around her. Her full name is Constantine, but everyone calls her Tiny – not because she’s small, but because she often holds back, especially when she's unsure.
Over time, and with a few surprising discoveries, Tiny starts to understand something very important: the difference between facts and opinions.
And once she learns that having an opinion is okay – as long as she knows when something is just a feeling and when it’s something true for everyone – Tiny begins to grow a little louder, a little braver, and a lot more herself.
